Travel Day: Basel - Arosa

Europe, Switzerland, Arosa | 16 July 2013

Today we woke up, packed, and headed to the train station. There we got a brand new sim card for our phone and we were on our way.

The train ride here was absolutely perfect. We almost had the whole train car to ourselves, and with every exit of a tunnel, we had a new and amazing view of the alps. Our only transfer was in Chur, and from there we got on the Rhaetian Railway to Arosa.

This trip was really neat. We slowly climbed into the mountains for an hour, and the views continued to be spectacular.

Our luck continued when we got to our hotel! It's their off season, so they put us in a room with a view, despite booking a lower rate room. Can't wait to wake up tomorrow looking at some of the most dramatic mountain scenes I've ever seen.

After checking in, we walked down to the lake across from the hotel. There we did a bit of reading in the sun, and I took a quick dip off the high dive.

OH, and tonight we had the best food we've had in a while. Still ridiculously expensive though. What can you do.

Loving it here so far!
